We have a vacancy for a career professional in the position of Technical Support Engineer. We would like to talk to candidates with a B Tech. Qualification (Electronics,Telecoms), in addition to MCSE and a minimum of 3 years appropriate related experience. A candidate with a National Diploma to T5 level with Electronics, Telecoms and Computer Science plus MCSE, with longer relevant experience may also qualify.
Experience should include Networking, Network (Win 2000, Win XP) and Website Administration. A thorough understanding of TCP/IP principles, Ethernet network protocols and standards, Network Administration. IT hardware such as routers, switches and bridges, an understanding of Telecom procedures, hardware and protocols. Some understanding of Scada systems, PLC's and ladder logic. Some experience in a high level language such as Pascal, C, Java or Perl.
To succeed in this position, the following attributes are essential;
An ability to provide quality customer service.
Competence in the use of MS Office, Adobe in Design and Corel Draw.
Ability to write lucid and well structured text.
An understanding of electronics and ability to read circuit diagrams.
Adequate discipline to attend to company procedures.
The ability to integrate successfully with team members.
A successful track record.
The incumbent's duties will consist of ;
Responding to customer requirements for technical support.
Network and website administration.
Publication of datasheets, manuals, brochures, newsletters etc.
Functions related to the company's warranty program.
Maintaining the training manual and presentation of company training courses.
