Matrix Corporate & Theatre Sound, a South African company specializing in
corporate event sound systems has chosen the Multenet PocketPAD1 to achieve Ethernet
connectivity of Soundweb sound processing units.
The Soundweb equipment was installed at the Pretoria State Theatre for use in this year's performance of "The Sound of Music".
The PocketPAD provides the necessary interface between a remote laptop and a fixed, rack mounted professional sound processing
unit, called Soundweb. The combination of the PocketPAD and wireless Ethernet equipment enables the user of the system to change
parameters of the sound system from virtually any point in the venue via a wireless connection. Since tuning of microphones and
sound delays is done in various locations within the venue, the ability to do this with a laptop using a wireless connection
enabled the sound engineer to finalize the design in less than half the usual set-up time.
