EtherPAD Lite

serial to ethernet device server
Description
serial to ethernet device server

Connect Asynchronous Serial devices to Ethernet networks and the Internet, simply and cost effectively with the Multenet EtherPAD Lite. The EtherPAD Lite is a versatile connectivity device that can be used in stand-alone, DIN rail or 19” rack-mount applications. It has a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interface and a RS232/RS422/RS485 serial interface connecting an asynchronous
serial device to an Ethernet network. The EtherPAD Lite also supports full Modbus Master and Slave Bridge.

The EtherPAD Lite can be set up as a Modbus Master Bridge or Slave Bridge. The EtherPAD Lite allows your networked master MODBUS PLC, using the MODBUS/TCP protocol, to communicate with a serial device, for example a flow meter communicating using MODBUS/RTU, via the Internet. In this case, the Lite will be set-up as a MODBUS Slave bridge and will enable the MODBUS/RTU protocol of the flow meter to interface with MODBUS/TCP as used by the PLC.
